Red and pink don’t match. I color red and pink hearts all the time–what do you mean they don’t match!? At least that’s how I remember it going when I was little. In spirit of Valentine’s Day, this red and pink outfit is a dose of fun, sassy and romantic with lace detail.
Growing up, red/pink and black/navy, were two combos you just didn’t do or try to make work. You mean I can’t wear my red velvet pants with my light pink turtleneck sweater and hot pink headband…? Do you have an image in your head? It’s probably pretty accurate. Note: my mother dressed me VERY cute and my childhood wardrobe goes way beyond this description. We all have our things when we’re little though, right? I lived for velvet pants in each color of the rainbow. ANYWAYS.
I’ve got the black/navy outfit combo down (style post, coming soon!) but for a while now, I’ve been wanting to put together a red and pink outfit, I just haven’t had the right pieces (inspo here). I can’t say this one really fulfills it either because without my coat… there’s no pink! But it tickled my fancy for the time being–until I have the right pieces to make it happen.
I don’t wear this shirt often–I don’t love wearing red–but it worked perfectly with my favorite black sloan pants. And I love the variation of lace between my top and shoes. This look had me feeling all lady-like at sunset!
May you embark on a quest to outfit the perfect red and pink combo. I hope to share one with you sooner than later! In the meantime, shop the look below and have a fabulous Valentine’s Day! And don’t forget to send love notes to your Valentine(s)!
