Now that it’s getting warmer, I’m realizing I have no flats in my closet to just throw on like I’m used to. (And it’s totally killing my outfit vibes!) I get so accustomed to wearing heels and tights, ankle boots, knee boots–or the same pair of flats with tights every day (guilty)–when it’s colder out. So between that and cleaning out my closet, I’m now like where did all my flats go!?
So, my current priority is SHOES, specifically flats. They can be hard to shop for, especially when ordering online, because you don’t always know what size to get or if a shoe will give you blisters. So it’s trial and error–you take your chances and figure it out as you go. But it’s time to re-up my flats game! Sharing my current favorite and must-have flats.
Granted my metallic silver loafers aren’t the most elegant or classic, the loafer style itself is timeless. I found these via H&M for about $30–they go with more than I ever imagined and I never got blisters from them. I can’t say every pair via H&M promises no blisters but again, it’s trial and error. Wear loafers with jeans and a tee, blazer and slacks, or a dress to add some edge to your dressed up or down #ootd.
2. The Classics
Some flats are worth the investment because you will have them forever–especially when it comes to a classic style. I discovered M. Gemi last year when I kept seeing sponsored ads on Facebook. (This was when I decided sponsored ads really worked because I fell in love immediately.) M. Gemi has a personalized fitting tool online to help you figure out exactly what size to order. It was magic because my Tuta flats came and could not have fit better (no blisters!). M. Gemi is the perfect happy-medium to splurging but getting quality, classic shoes for a reasonable price. Invest, invest! I will forever endorse M. Gemi (and they don’t have to pay me).
3. Ankle Strap(s)
Ankle straps are IN–and also super flattering. If you haven’t tried them, hop on board. My favorite black Zara flats (pictured) with ankle straps x 5 changed my life and #ootds forever. I wear a 7.5 normally, but anytime I order from Zara, I go a half size up–no exceptions! I recently found an ankle strap pair via DSW I am in love with and excited to add to my closet.
Lace-ups have been trending in all colors, styles and heel heights. I still haven’t had a chance to invest in the lace-up flats I really want—I hope to one dayyyyyy, but I found a pair of Jessica Simpson via DSW at an affordable price that will do for now. They are a lace-up and ankle strap hybrid–they go with plenty and are flattering.
Leopard print flats are a MUST in any girl’s closet. Whether it’s a pair of loafers, ballet, lace-ups–leopard is a timeless neutral that goes with everything. I am kind of picky about the type of leopard print but the good news is–there are plenty to choose from! So find that pair of leopard flats, make an investment or a quick find and call it a day.
