Asheville boutique brings people together

It was a happy hump day indeed at a new Asheville boutique when hostess with the mostess, Dema Badr, brought passionate local creatives under one roof to shop, drink and mingle. With good company, good finds and good conversation, it was a Happy Hour x Trunk Show at Scout Boutique, featuring local designers. (And I got to join in on the fun!)

Contemporary x Local

Scout Boutique brings a refreshing–and much needed–energy to the Asheville fashion scene (we’re so glad you opened in April 2016!). Asheville boutique owner and fashion guru, Dema Badr, has a knack for tasteful detail, simplicity, classic and edge all at once–the adorable and perfectly designed boutique speaks for itself. With contemporary brands and local designers, it was just the perfect place for Rachel Weisberg and Ali Reznikoff of The Silversmith Jewelry to come together–and I was so delighted to join them!

A Passion for Making and Creating

What start as the cutest sketches come to life in the hands of Rachel Weisberg. Rachel creates, designs and produces her collections, including clothing, jewelry, accessories and home products right here in Asheville. Her serious passion for making and creating sustainable quality clothes and accessories shines in her ridiculously unique designs and clean silhouettes. For the event, I sported this top and pant ensemble that I’m totally obsessed with, which is hand made by Rachel, and available now at Scout Boutique. This dress is also available at Scout Boutique, so I’d go buy it now if I were you (before I do!).

Natural Elements Emerge

Thanks to this little get together, I discovered what silvery jewelry dreams are made of! Ali Reznikoff of The Silversmith has become an emerging designer, creating unique jewelry that is hand forged from sterling silver with accents of other natural elements. It’s no doubt I felt connected to her creations because Ali’s passion is “being able to create small sculptures that help her clients express themselves.” I get you, Ali! I usually prefer gold jewelry, but Ali’s collections offer options for either taste with silver, and silver with gold accents that are to die for–and I felt like I was able to pick out the perfect pieces to express myself. Note: This is NOT sponsored and I am ready to buy all of the pieces I am wearing in these photos (and they complemented my great grandmother’s opal ring perfectly).

Shop. Drink. Mingle.

I love when fashion and design bring people together–that’s primarily the only reason just ferriss exists. Opportunities like this–where people get to showcase the things they create for others to find joy in–keeps the energy flowing in this world and drives us forward. I just feel so fortunate to be a part of it! We so appreciate everyone who came out to support and #shoplocal. Thanks to Dema of Scout Boutique for bringing us together. And mega thanks to my wonderful photographer and friend, Joseph Dix of Joseph Dix Photography for hanging out and capturing the evening! We look forward to doing it again soon, Xx
