Summer Edge (part i)

July 20, 2016

Sometimes I feel all ladylike. Sometimes I feel all-natural. Sometimes I feel casual chic. And sometimes I feel bold. Anything goes with me, really. Either way, my outfits capture my mood and energy–whatever I’m feeling is what I end up in. And this outfit was no exception–it was definitely reflective of my mood recently (which these songs sum up pretty well).

Summer Edge

So far this summer, I’ve been making a habit of wearing outfits on repeat (kind of like my music). I was determined to mix it up when I was going out one night with some friends, so I wore my favorite-ever black ripped jeans in the heat of the summer (no regrets). And the rest (top and booties) fell into place for an outfit with some serious summer edge. It was the perfect way to mix up my recent #ootds. And the best part was how effortless it was from putting it on and walking out the door with no makeup and, well–my tousled hair speaks for itself.

As I’m going through some major life changes, I’m digging deeper than ever on my endless journey of self-discovery–exploring new places with new people with new perspectives and a new attitude. And my personal style is a vital piece of this journey. I am far from the “cool girl” so that’s one thing I’ll never try to be, but somehow this outfit managed to make me feel semi-cool and edgy (who am I kidding)?

But what really makes this look all that it is are the places. North Carolina, I love every part of you.
